The Bradford Supply Company under its present corporate structure,
headquarters in Robinson, Illinois, has been in existence since 1961,
but its facilities and experience go back much further.
Bradford's predecessor was a Pennsylvania company founded
in Bradford, PA, and organized in 1907. Company offices, a supply
house and machine shop were established in Robinson in 1914. A merger
in 1960 with Atlas Pipe Company in Texas resulted in a new corporation,
Atlas Bradford Company. In 1961, a group under the leadership of
C. D. Chamblin, Sr., purchased Atlas Bradford's stores, assets
and inventory and incorporated the new organization in Illinois
under the name of Bradford Supply Company, with general offices
in Robinson, Illinois.
The Bradford Supply Company employs approximately 110 men & women with branch operations located in Robinson, Salem, St. Elmo, Carmi, Bridgeport, Bloomington and Clay City Illinois, New Harmony and Princeton Indiana, Henderson, KY., Gaylord, MI., and Powell and Riverton, WY.
The oil field has been the cornerstone of business for Bradford
Supply over the years and has fostered many successful customer
relationships. A full time sales/service organization concentrates
its efforts on this vital market providing a full line of inventory
from casing and tubing to pumping units. Bradford continues to expand
its products and services to drillers, producers, refineries and
pipeline companies. Bradford acknowledges its success in the oil
patch is in direct proportion to the success of the customers it
serves, whether it's a major oil company or an independent
oil producer.
Through the years of commitment to provide its customers with a
broad inventory, Bradford has diversified into other markets to
include mining, water well systems, industrial, chemical, plumbing, and onsite waste water systems.
Through the prestigious line of Goulds/Xylem, Myers & Flint & Walling Water System
Pumps, Bradford has emerged in a relatively short time as a major
authority and supplier of industrial, municipal and private water
systems. In its marketing area, Bradford has become one of the few
truly authoritative sources on movement and treatment of water and
has been recognized by Water Well Journal as one of the country's
top 50 wholesalers. A complete inventory of centrifugal, submersible,
turbine and jet pumps and water treating equipment is maintained
at all Bradford locations.
Throughout the Bradford marketing area, many industrial plants
and utility companies demand and expect the highest quality products
and service. Bradford maintains an efficient, qualified industrial
sales and service organization to deliver and sustain a flow of
products including pipe, fittings, valves, tools, power transmission
equipment and a complete line of industrial chemicals vital to the
continuing operation of industries.
The People: The backbone of any company, whether it is a manufacturer or a service organization, is people who fill the ranks from top to bottom. Bradford is an equal opportunity employer and proudly notes that both men and women play important roles in management, sales, manufacturing, and operation of our company. We have committed many dollars and man hours per year on in-house training and to send personnel to special schools and seminars offered by the manufacturers we represent. This policy is reinforced by the dedication of our employees, works to insure you of receiving more than just a product.
The Service: Service, an often misused word. At Bradford Supply Company, service means a large and broad inventory, excellent relations with the manufacturers represented, 24/7 on call service by employees who have initiative, pride, integrity and use good common sense regardless of the duties they perform. An on-going program to stress the importance of service with the motto "If we don't have it, we'll get it for you" is reflected in our continued growth.
The Products: Quality is the key word in describing the products carried by Bradford Supply Company. We believe the image we project is directly related to the manufacturers we represent. The price at times is greater, but the long life associated with better-built products put the value rating out front, and exemplifies why these manufacturers are recognized as leaders in their respective fields.
Social Responsibility: Bradford employees are encouraged to make positive contributions to each community and areas in which we operate. Through personal involvement and contributions, Bradford supports the Boy and Girl Scout programs, Chamber of Commerce, social organizations such as the Rotary, Elks, and Kiwanis, educational institutions, and summer Little League athletic programs, plus many other activities.
Safety & Environmental Programs: Management is uncompromisingly committed to ongoing training and awareness programs in employee safety, health and environmental protection. Bradford Supply Company has incorporated procedures and policies to comply with State and Federal regulations such as OSHA Hazard Communication Policy and Hazardous Material Transportation Policy. In addition, inventory safety checks, blood pressure clinics and CPR training are a few of the programs management has initiated to uphold its pledge to customers, employees and community for advancement of safety and environmental well being.
